UNFORTUNATELY, WE ARE FORCED TO CANCEL THE EVENT AS THE VISA APPLICATIONS OF OUR GUESTS WERE REJECTED. WE ARE VERY SORRY FOR THE DISAPPOINTMENT.
Over 2 billion pairs of shoes are produced in India each year. Wages in the shoe industry are often extremely low and exploitation based on gender and caste is common. Eetti Helsinki offers you a unique opportunity to learn about the issues and struggles in the Indian shoe industry through the first-hand experience of our guests!
The Eetti Helsinki group will meet on 3 November (Thursday) at 6 pm (18.00) at Antikvariaatti Sofia (Vuorikatu 5, 00100 Helsinki). Our guests will be Salman Ansari, a worker in a shoe factory in Uttar Pradesh, and Avantee Bansal, a researcher and trainer on socio-economic rights.
As we will serve some Indian delicacies, it would be great, if you could let us know that you are coming by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. However, you are warmly welcome even if you do not inform us beforehand!
Hope to see many of you there!
Kinga, Karolina and Ninni
